New Islington Bridge Competition

This elegant project for a+j burridge was a competition entry for a three-point bridge as part of a regeneration masterplan of the New Islington area of Newcastle. A concrete dome with numerous apetures rests on the three points of connection, with a walkway following its edge. Canal boats that pass under the bridge would experience an array of colours reflecting off the surface of the water, as daylight passes through the coloured filters.
